Little Lane is a small, private place for you and your friends. It has no ads, no public profiles, and nothing is sold. Here's exactly what it keeps and why.
What Little Lane keeps
- Your cottage. The name you choose, how you decorate your house, and your buddy.
- Your lanes. Which lanes you live on and who else lives there.
- What you share. Thoughts you float, flowers, replies in the mailbox, notes on the board, weekly answers and surveys.
- Your email, only if you save your cottage. It's used to send you sign-in codes and nothing else. No newsletters, no marketing.
- Feedback you send. Your note, plus your device type and screen size, to help fix bugs.
- A few settings in your browser. Things like your sound settings and whether you've seen a reminder. These stay on your device.
Who can see it
Only people on your lanes. A thought only reaches the lanes you float it to. There's no search, no public page and no way for strangers to find you. The only way in is an invite link from someone on the lane.
As the person who runs Little Lane, I can technically see what's stored in order to keep things working. I won't read your lanes unless you ask me to help with a problem.
How long it lasts
- Thoughts float away after 3 days and are deleted for good shortly after.
- Notes on the village board come down after a week.
- Your cottage, garden, mail and answers stay until you leave or start over.
Deleting everything
Open More in Little Lane and tap Start over. That removes your cottage, your thoughts, flowers, mail, notes, answers and surveys, and takes you off every lane.
If you saved your cottage with an email and also want that email removed, send a note using Send feedback or email hello@ourlittlelane.com, and I'll delete it.
Services that help run it
- Supabase stores the village's data and handles sign-in.
- Netlify hosts the website.
- Resend sends sign-in code emails.
- Google Fonts provides the lettering.
Little Lane doesn't use analytics, tracking pixels or advertising tools.
A few more things
- Little Lane is in beta, so this page may change as it grows. If anything important changes, you'll hear about it in the app.
- Little Lane is meant for people 13 and older.
